JETS FLY HIGH AS NUMEROUS DYNAMOS MISTAKES PROVE COSTLY

After a third period comeback win over the Romford Buccaneers on Saturday night, the Dynamos were looking to get back in form against a young and energetic Slough Jets team.

The Slough Jets were looking to bounce back against the Mos after they lost to the Chelmsford Chieftans on Saturday night. The Jets wasted no time getting into the game as Kyle Bradburn picked up a loose puck in front of the net and slotted it past Owen Rider just 2 minutes 22 seconds into the game.

The Jets used the momentum from the early goal and applied endless amounts of pressure on the Dynamos. Owen Rider came up big numerous times keeping the game within 1.

The Dynamos started to find their feet in the last 5 minutes of the first period however, unable to capitalize on the pressure, the Mos went into the first break trailing 1 to nothing. A back and forth start to the second period saw lots of great chances from both sides, however both goaltenders stood tall and the game remained 1-0 Slough. A slashing penalty 6 minutes into the second period saw the Dynamos go on the powerplay. A nifty move involving Bronnimann and Lascek saw Owen Dell in the slot who finished his chance above the glove of Jets goalie Brett Massey. 1-1 after 28 minutes played.

A big hit by Christian Mohr on Dynamos forward James Laming saw Springer Hughes take exception and stick up for his teammate. Both players were given 5 minute penalties for fighting, Jets Mohr was given an extra 2 for boarding. With just 2 minutes remaining in the second period, Kyle Bradburn made a great defensive play blocking Joe Stephsons shot from the point. Bradburn then broke down the ice and showed great composure and accuracy, firing the puck short side, and beating Rider. Jets back in front 2-1.

A fired up Jets and a lapse in concentration from the Dynamos saw Jets youngster Sebastian Mohr fire home a scrappy goal giving the guests a 2 goal cushion with only 50 seconds left to play in the second.

Going into the period the Dynamos knew it was going to be a hard task to come back and win the game, yet they still had belief. The Dynamos had chances however were never able to get a real hold on the game. A shorthanded goal 8 minutes into the second period by Jets top goal scorer Sebastian Mohr, put the game at 5-1, making the Dynamos uphill battle even harder.

A consolation goal by Tom Soar with 13 seconds remaining saw the buzzer sound and the final score was 5-2. A tough loss for the Dynamos who understand every win matters at this stage of the season. Karl Lennon’s side now has 2 weeks to prepare for their next game away vs Streatham on Sunday 15th October.
