The Invicta Dynamos are proud to announce their Leadership team for the upcoming 2024/25 season. Our new Club Captain will be new arrival Aaron Connolly, with Louis Colvin and Dan Scott taking the Alternate Captain roles.

Having decided upon a change Head Coach Karl Lennon shared “I’ll start by thanking both Harry and Joe for taking on leadership roles last season. They both care deeply about this club, they give everything to it and it was no different for them as a C or A to the team. It’s a difficult job leading a team and in a challenging season they applied themselves well. Harry achieved a significant milestone last term with his all time record for appearances and you could see throughout the season the pride he had when wearing the C.

Changing the leadership team for next season is not a reflection on Harry or Joe… but more about us leveraging as much of the experience we have available to us. Regardless of a letter on the jersey players like Harry and Joe will remain leaders in the team both on and off the ice. In my opinion historically this club has had teams jam packed with leaders and it was a big foundation to our successes.

Of course when Aaron agreed to come here I knew that it would be very naive of me not to absorb as much of his experience as possible. He’s been a Captain now in the past 8 seasons of his hockey career at the National level and we can only benefit from having that with us. He’s an incredibly professional athlete that will push his team mates forward and even in the few weeks he’s been on the ice with us, you can already see that shining through. He’s going to have a big responsibility this season and I’m certain that he will carry that with immense pride.

I had planned to give Louis a letter after his season with us but when he left for Leeds, obviously I had to rethink. You only have to watch one shift from Louis to understand what type of a leader he is – one that leads by example. He constantly outworks opponents and energises his teammates with that enthusiasm. When we had him last, he always endeavoured to execute our objectives to the best of his ability, that attitude will be vital for any success that we wish to have. He too has had some great exposure to a winning culture last season and I’m sure that we will be the beneficiaries of that through the course of the season.

I really enjoyed having Dan back with us last year and his presence was felt immediately. He’s a strong character in the dressing room and on the ice. You can see very clearly that his teammates value that strong support he provides them. His experience is vital especially for our younger defencemen that can only benefit from his encouragement and guidance. One year in and we can already see results, I expect him to take that now to the next level.

So congratulations to our 24/25 Leadership Team. The hard graft starts here.”
