The Invicta Dynamos are thrilled to welcome towering Canadian defenceman Danny Gatenby to the team for the upcoming 2025/26 season!
Standing at 6’4”, Gatenby brings a commanding presence to the blue line and completes our import pairing for the new campaign. With a career that spans the WHL, BCHL, USPORTS and most recently the University of Victoria in the BCIHL, Danny arrives in Kent with a wealth of experience and a reputation for physical play, puck movement, and leadership.
Danny can’t wait to get going as a Mo and had this to say, “I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Dynamos next season. After speaking with coach Karl I am confident that this is the right decision for myself and I am grateful for the opportunity to play with this talented group. Can’t wait to get started this fall.”
Delighted to have secured the services of the impressive D-Man Coach Karl Lennon added, “Danny and I got connected this summer and discussed the possibility of him joining us here for next season. He’s played to a very good standard in his homeland and was looking for an opportunity overseas. After a few calls and watching his game footage, I felt that he would be an excellent fit for us. He’s got great size, plays physically, carries and distributes the puck extremely well and pops up with goals too. One of the things that most impressed me with his career thus far was his leadership skills—he’s worn the C with his University team the past 3 seasons and that culminated in a division title last year. It’s been a little while since the Dynamos have had a Canadian on the roster, I’m excited about that and I’m sure you will be too. So welcome not only to the Mo’s Danny, but to the UK… we can’t wait to have you here with us 🐴🏒💪”.
With his blend of physicality, poise, and leadership, Danny Gatenby is set to be a fan favourite and a key piece of the Dynamos’ defensive core. Let’s give him a warm welcome and get ready for a great season ahead!
Gatenby will wear the No 17 when he takes to the ice for the first time in England in September!
