The Invicta Dynamos are delighted to announce the re-signing of defenceman Sam Oliver on a two-way agreement with the Invicta Mustangs. Oliver will continue to prioritise the Mustangs schedule and ice with the Mos when our fixtures do not clash. This is the second year of his 2-way agreement and we very pleased to have him back with us once again when he will take to the ice with the team come September.
22-year-old no nonsense defenceman Oliver, also a product of the Invicta Junior system, has been a part of the Mustangs set up since the 2019/20 season and has been a staple on their roster ever since, playing a pivotal role in their NIHL South 2 Playoff success at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
His strength, skill and physical presence on the ice caught the eye of Head Coach, Karl Lennon, and the young skater subsequently agreed to a 2-way with us and the Mustangs last season. Oliver went on to feature in 19 games across all competitions for our club, making an impact in each appearance. In those 19 games played he scored 2 goals, assisted in another 3 more and spent 19 minutes in the penalty box.
We look forward to watching his development continue as he has maximum exposure in both NIHL 1 and 2 this season within the Invicta set up.

I relished the challenge last season of a new league; I believe it developed my game and I look forward to furthering that this coming season. Needless to say, I am excited to get back on the ice with the returning Mos and the new players Karl has signed in the summer”.
On agreeing the deal with the Mustangs for Oliver, Dynamos Head Coach Karl Lennon said: “We loved having Sam with us last season as and when he could dress. He fits straight into the dressing room and has a big presence when he is on the ice. He brings great energy to our offense, is extremely capable of playing D and plays with great physicality. Some of his performances last year were outstanding, resulting in a few MOM’s and I’m certain that he’ll be building on them this year when he’s available. Great to have you back Sam. 💪.”
Sam Oliver will continue to wear the No 14 when he returns to the ice for the Mos in September.
