adamrehak_191116An Adam Rehak double and goals from Ashley Jackson and Joshua Condren saw the Invicta Dynamos come from 2-0 down to beat the London Raiders 4-2 on the road in the NIHL South Division 1 on Saturday evening.

Invicta were missing huge numbers again having to make do without the services of Nicky Lewis, Haydn Wootton, Taylor Wootton, Adam McNicoll, James Richardson, Steve Osman and Harrison Lillis.
The first period started with an early goal for the home side after only 28 seconds – Damien King’s save from Marek Nahlik was in vein as John Connolly was on hand to tap home the rebound. A minute later and the Dynamos had a powerplay as Thomas Beesley tripped Ashley Jackson but the Mos were their own worst enemy after committing too many men to the ice resulting in a 4-on-4 situation. Once both teams returned to full strength the Raiders doubled their lead on 7.32 – Ross Connolly striking into Damien King’s net assisted by JJ Pitchley and Matt France. The Dynamos needed a bit of magic to get going and it came on 11.29 – Josh Condren evading three challenges to poke the puck past Euan King when sliding to the ground for 2-1.

The second period initially started with the teams cancelling each other out. Other than a few powerplay advantages for both teams neither could capitalise when having an extra man. The Dynamos then drew level on 38.13 through Ashley Jackson who did well to slot past Euan King following good build up work from Arran Strawson and Adam Rehak. Barely a minute later the visitors completed a great comeback to lead 3-2 on 39.17 – Adam Rehak this time on the score sheet and Jackson claiming an assist. On the end of period buzzer tempers then flared briefly when J.J Pitchley went in for a challenge after the time was up.

The final period continued to see both sides cancel each other out for the first 10 minutes – Damien King only having one shot to save before being replaced by deputy John Dibble. Dibble had to make a great stop from Marek Nahlik not long after being introduced with time ticking along to a finish. With only three minutes remaining London called a timeout which was followed by Mason Webster almost nicking a goal for Invicta when play resumed. An Invicta timeout in the final minute then led to Euan King being pulled with the home side hoping an extra skater would help push for an equaliser but it was the Mos who went on to score – Adam Rehak firing unassisted into an empty net to complete a memorable comeback and 4-2 winning score line.

The hardworking Ashley Jackson collected the man of the match award having been for the Dynamos having been an instrumental figure in the victory.
