The very versatile and talented Louis Colvin has penned a new deal with the Mos and will return to the club following a season with National League Champions, Leeds Knights.

Colvin previously spent two spells with the Mos.  His debut NIHL season was in 2017/18 which saw the young player miss just 1 of 42 fixtures across 3 competitions, showing great determination and skill playing across a range of lines in a demanding campaign. The forward amassed 18 points – finding the net on 6 occasions whilst chipping in with 12 assists – and was an infrequent visitor to the penalty box with just 4 PIMS to his name. He subsequently went on to be awarded the ‘Coaches Player of the Year’ award at the end of season presentation evening.  Colvin re-signed in 2018/19 and continued in the same vein, scoring another 6 goals and 16 assists in the 45 games played, in an extremely challenging season for the club.

He attracted the attention of the Bracknell Bees that season and went on to subsequently sign for them in 2019/20.  After a 2-year hiatus from the game a change in coaching management at the Mos in the 2022/23 season coincided with his return to the club and he once again took to the ice in our jersey, playing a pivotal role in our cup success.  He has currently played 75 games for the club, scoring 25 goals, assisting in a further 49 more giving him a points total of 74.

Following his season with the Leeds Knights, crowned National League Champions, Colvin is back where he belongs and a Mo once more!  The 24-year-old utility player has proved that he is adaptable, multi- skilled and can play forward and D with ease, attributes that will again be invaluable to us this season.

Speaking on his return, Colvin had this to say “I always kept track of the team on social media all year and I feel like part of me never left, so when Karl messaged me about this coming season, it was a no brainer. Although I didn’t get the ice time I would have wanted in Leeds, I’ve developed my game by training with some of the best players in the league and I can’t wait to bring my experience to Invicta. I’m excited to see what Karl has planned for us and to play a part in it”.

“Of course we were sad to see Louis leave last season but were proud of the opportunity he went off to in Leeds. I kept in contact with Louis throughout the season to see how he was getting on. It was great to see from afar that the team he was part of went on to win the National League. Of course, that experience is invaluable for Louis and in turn having him back with us this season will no doubt assist us as a club too.  Louis is a solid 2 way hockey player that has an infectious energy in the games he plays. In my first season as coach, he was an extremely dependable player that was a crucial part of our team and our Cup success. Rewarding Louis that year with Coaches Player of the Season shows just how high a regard I hold him in.  When I heard the possibility that he might be interested in a return… I was very quick to ensure that he would come back to us. I cannot wait to work with him again and he’ll have a vital part to play for us in the upcoming season.”
