25-year-old forward Cameron Pywell joins the Mos from NIHL North 1 team Sheffield Scimitars, where he has spent the past 3 seasons.
Cameron started his hockey career in Nottingham and represented their junior system at all age groups up to under 18. During that time, he was a significant contributor offensively resulting in him being selected to represent Midlands U11, U13, U15 and U17 levels.
In the 2014/15, whilst still part of the Nottingham Leopards (U18), Pywell began his senior hockey career with the Nottingham Lions in NIHL North 2. He remained at that level with the Lions for the next two seasons. In that time, he played 56 games, scored 13 goals and 15 assists for a total of 28 pts.
Following his time at NIHL North 2, Pywell stepped up a division in the 2017/18 season to the North 1 Nottingham Lions side. He spent the next 3 seasons playing 77 games for the Lions contributing 15 goals and 38 assists totalling 53 points. During this time in the 2018/19 season, Cameron represented the GB University team with our very own Ruskin Springer-Hughes.
At the start of the 2021/22 season he moved across to the Sheffield Scimitars, where he has played until now. In his 3 seasons with the club, he played 73 games amassing 49pts (21 goals +28 assists) in total. In the past season he wore an A on his jersey as Alternate Captain for the club.
On signing with the team Cameron said “I’m really excited to be joining the Dynamos and can’t wait for the season to start. This club has a storied history, and I’m eager to add to it when September comes. Karl has exciting plans for the team, and I can’t wait to start working with my new teammates. I’m looking forward to playing in front of the Invicta crowd for the first time.”
“Cam comes to us this summer highly recommended. He had played on a team with a couple of our players in the past. I learned early in the summer that he would be moving down south and would be keen to continue his hockey. After a few discussions, it became quite clear he would be a good fit for us. I watched a few game tapes of him and can say that he’s a solid two-way hockey player that knows where the net is. Very happy to welcome him to the team and looking forward to working with him this season.”
