damienking_banner_241015After recent speculation the Invicta Dynamos are pleased to confirm the arrival of prohockeynews.com NIHL South All-Star goalie Damien King to the club after the 24 year old completed a switch from the Milton Keynes Thunder.

Peterborough born Damien King arrives at the SilverBlades with an excellent pedigree having been an EPL regular for the Phantoms from 2009 to 2014. Having risen through the junior system the shot stopper made his debut in the league above in 2008 before claiming the starting spot as his own with 51 appearances the following season aged just 18. Over the next four campaigns he remained the number one choice for the Phantoms before Peterborough controversially opted to go the way of an import goalie for 2014/15.

As King sought alternate options for the new season it was the Milton Keynes Thunder who would benefit from his services as the NIHL South Division 1 outfit completed a major coup by securing his capture last term. Come the end of the year his performances saw him finish with a save percentage of 92% and voted by his peers as the league’s All-Star netminder in the prohockeynews.com end of season player votes. Now, having started the campaign in fine form for the Thunder once again, he will place himself between the pipes in Gillingham as he signs for the Mos in Kent for the remainder of 2015/16.

Speaking on the arrival of Damien King, Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “We’re very pleased Damien has agreed to join us at the Dynamos. He’s an excellent shot stopper with a very strong background and he will undoubtedly prove a great addition between the posts. At 24 Damien already has over 200 starts in the EPL and last season was voted as the best netminder in the division by all those that were trying to get past him. Receiving that accolade from his peers is a true testament of his ability and I look forward to working with him when he joins up with us at the end of the month”.

Damien King will wear the number one jersey at the Mos and should be available to make his debut when the side host the Cardiff NIHL Devils on Saturday 31st October. In the meantime Steve Nightingale will continue his stint between the posts as he looks to backstop the side to a second win over the Streatham Redskins who visit the SilverBlades on Sunday 25th. Doors open at 4.30pm with faceoff at 5.15pm.
