The Invicta Dynamos are delighted to announce the re-signing of Joshua Condren. The 27-year-old forward has enjoyed multiple periods of hockey with the Mos and is a welcome returnee. A change in work commitments will ensure his appearances this season will be more consistent, and he should now be a regular member of the roster.
Joshua Condren is a former Guildford junior who then went on to represent the Slough Jets and London Raiders before first joining the Dynamos in 2015/16, featuring in all but one of the team’s 50 games. After a successful debut year, Condren stayed for a further two and in 2016/17 he was a part of the side that lifted the NIHL South Division 1 Playoff trophy. He featured another 29 times in the 2017/18 season – scoring 5 goals before moving to nearby Streatham the following campaign. After a break from the game, the speedy forward returned to the Dynamos for a short period in 2021.
Fast forward to last summer and Condren was once again keen to rejoin the club but a change in his work commitments meant his participation was delayed. The club then suffered an injury prone period and Condren was able to step up to help plug the gap and bolster numbers when his work schedule allowed. An additional change in his work commitments now mean he will be available on a more frequent basis and should appear in the lineup a lot more consistently. Last season Condren played 22 games, scoring 4 goals and assisting in 4 more.
Condren is a hard working forward with pace and a knack for drawing penalties with his unorthodox style. He brings tenacity to the line-up and has the ability to score important goals.
Speaking on the recapture of Head Coach, Karl Lennon, had this to say “Josh is a handful for any opposition. He’s a very skilled puck carrier, extremely determined and this always makes him a difficult proposition. He stepped in and out of the Roster last year to make sure we had a full complement of players, but a change in his working life has meant that he can be more readily available for the coming season. He was excellent in the closing games, signing off with a fantastic solo goal in MK against Solent and I fully expect him to pick up where he signed off. Welcome back Josh.”
Speaking on his return, Condren said “Can’t wait to get started and push on from what we achieved last season. I’ve got good feelings for the year ahead!”
Condren will wear continue to wear the number 91 next season. Welcome back Josh!
