The Invicta Dynamos are pleased to announce that 16-year-old forward, Brandon Chard, will be icing for us once again come September and his return marks his second season with the Mos and our tenth signing of the 2023/24 season so far. His addition to the team last year was a clear message of the pathway the club is moving forwards with, in terms of fostering and developing home grown talent, and Brandon did not let the responsibility and pressure that comes with senior hockey defy him, he certainly held his own on the ice.
The Chard surname is synonymous with ice hockey in Medway and Brandon is ensuring it remains that way. In his first season with the club Brandon iced in all 41 games played, scoring 6 goals, and assisting in a further 5, giving him a points total of 11. His high energy style of play and plucky attitude on the ice was not lost on our supporters as the season progressed and we are sure there is a lot more to come from him this season as he further develops and evolves at this level of hockey.
Speaking on his signing Brandon said “I am really pleased to be returning to the Dynamos for another season and be a part of the rebuilding of this club. I was very grateful to have been given the opportunity by Karl to play senior hockey as a 16 year old, and I am looking forward to progressing my game even further in the upcoming season and to help bring more success to the fans.”
Head Coach Karl Lennon is excited to see Brandon’s further potential this season and adds “At the age of just 16, I believe Brandon performed really well last season and exceeded expectations for most. He’s fearless, skates extremely well and works hard forcing turnovers across the ice. He showed his quality at various times last season chipping in with some important goals. He’s a great kid with an excellent attitude and I’m looking forward to seeing his continued development this season. Great to have you back Brandon”.💪
Chard will continue to wear the number 16 for the Invicta Dynamos in 2023/24.
