Forward Juraj Huska has possibly the most prolific CV in NIHL with goals to his name in America, Croatia, France and England. He first arrived in the UK in 2006 to ice for the Telford Tigers and it then became his permanent home following his return to these shores in 2010. In the decade plus that has followed, Huska has plied his trade in the southeast with appearances for Raiders IHC, Chelmsford Chieftains and the Invicta Dynamos.
Huska started with the Raiders where in three seasons he tallied 210 goals and 168 assists for 378 points in just 141 games. The Dynamos were next to secure his services in 2013 and he showed no signs of slowing down over the two campaigns that followed – the Slovak on target 127 times, setting up 118 more and so bagging 245 points in 107 outings.
In 2015 the forward switched to Essex where he spent two seasons in the colours of the Chelmsford Chieftains and he continued to terrorise the division with his goal scoring prowess. Over both terms Huska claimed 186 points – lighting the lamp 106 times and nabbing assists in 80 more during 106 appearances. By 2017 he was back with the Raiders where he remained a prominent figure despite the team being thrust upward into British ice hockey’s second tier. In 82 fixtures for the gold and blue he scored 57 times, played a part in 60 more and so tallied 117 points.
A fan favourite, Huska has laid down his roots once again in Kent with the Mos having returned to the club from Essex in 2019, a season that saw him bow out of the campaign as the top points scorer. In the 34 games played prior to covid the forward beat the netminder 40 times and setup a further 34 goals for a points tally of 74. The covid-forced break did not dampen the fine form he displays on the ice and last season he continued to rack up the points finishing the season having played 36 games, fired the puck across the line 36 times and assisted in a further 40 goals giving him a very respectable 76 points and clearly demonstrating he can consistently compete at this level.
“ WE’RE DELIGHTED TO HAVE HUSK BACK WITH US FOR NEXT SEASON. HE WAS OUR FORWARD OF THE YEAR AND FOR VERY GOOD REASON. HE ALWAYS DELIVERS YEAR ON YEAR AND WAS A MUST FOR US TO GET BACK. HE COMES NOT ONLY WITH TREMENDOUS QUALITY, BUT WITH HUGE EXPERIENCE AND THAT WILL BE A VITAL ASSET FOR US WITH OUR ROSTER THIS SEASON. HE WILL ASSIST IN COACHING THIS TERM, SO WE CAN LEVERAGE HIS KNOWLEDGE IN ALL ASPECTS OF OUR GAME.” – KARL LENNON
