The Dynamos are delighted to announce that Stanislav Lascek will return to Kent for the 2023/24 season and will fill the first available import slot. The prolific forward now enters his third period with the club having completed his first full term last season where he certainly made his mark playing 40 games, scoring 28 goals and contributing to another 50 more – giving him a total points tally of 78 across all competitions and the highest of any player on the roster. He previously played a brief spell in 2021 and we are very pleased to be welcoming him back in September – beard or no beard!
Lascek’s previous endeavours on the ice are widely recognised following stints in Slovakia, Canada, America, France, Germany, Sweden and the UK. The former 2005 round five NHL draftee has predominantly iced on these shores since 2013 initially lacing up for the Milton Keynes Lightning in what was then the EPL in 2013/14.
After brief spells in Germany and Sweden, Lascek moved to the Sheffield Steeldogs in 2015/16 where he continued to be a force in the league. In 2017/18 Stanislav Lascek moved to the NIHL with the Sutton Sting and here he would spend the next three seasons. After Covid postponed the 2020/21 season, the 37 year old briefly signed with the Sheffield Scimitars for the 2021/22 season, prior to the temporary arrangement with the Mos which then saw him complete that term with the Chelmsford Chieftains. Lennon was quick to re-secure his services last summer, in his first season at the helm, and both Stano and the club have not looked back. With the ability to be a game changer on his day we hope to see those flashes of brilliance once more when we return to the ice in September.
Lascek clearly loves the club and the feeling is reciprocated, with his unique character ensuring he is a fan favourite both on and off the ice. Speaking on his return to the Mos he had this to say “It is an honour to play for such a club with good and long history. After winning cup champions last season we want more this season. Lennon was keen to sign him again for the upcoming season and adds “Delighted to have Stanley back with us for another season. Both a popular man in the room and in the stands, he brings a huge amount of experience, creativity and quality to our line-up. He’s a real character in the team and of course led the scoring charts across all competitions last season. I’ll be leaning on him even more this season to take our team to the next level. From speaking to him at length I know how much he believes in what we are doing and he’ll do all he can to keep us moving in the right direction. Excited to have him back with us for another year”. 💪
