WEEKEND ROUNDUP

A third period seven goal thriller preceded by 2 periods that we may want to forget but the team came good and got the win!. Here’s the roundup:

SUNDAY 27th NOVEMBER

HEAD COACH ANALYSIS

I was happy to sign off before our 2 weekend break with a win, but I was not so fond of our first two periods Sunday.

We began the game very flat and I think a little expectant of a result and forgot that in every hockey game you have to show up and put in a shift. Credit to MK and the skaters they brought with them, they out worked us for spells and the result reflected that going into the final period.

We made a few changes to our lines in the 3rd and that seemed to do the trick. We upped the intensity level and I was very happy with the 7 goals we put up. Of course I’d prefer to do that in first half of the game.

We saw an outstanding performance from Husk on the night (4+3) and great to see Longer, Louis, Rich and Stanley on the score sheet.

Unfortunately yesterday was Gregor’s last game for the foreseeable, you’ll remember he sustained a shoulder injury a good number of weeks back in Chelmsford and has been playing through the pain since. He will have surgery in December and his recovery time is still to be determined based upon that. He’s had a great start to the season so he’ll be a big miss for us, but great that he signed off with his first Dynamos goal last night. We’ll keep you posted on his progress through the season.

A personal highlight was to see all of the players getting to spend time with you all at the end of the game. You have created such a positive and encouraging environment for them this season and it was especially great for them to experience that close up.

So we now have some time out for the boys to recover from any niggling injuries (and put up the Christmas decs). Full focus will be on finishing the calendar year with a strong final weekend away in MK and back here against Solent (17th/18th Dec). See you all in December!
