WEEKEND ROUNDUP
A tense game on Sunday finally saw us secure some vital league points. A delayed face off added unnecessary tension but the team fought hard on the ice and eventually came out on top following a late game winning goal. Here’s the roundup:

SUNDAY 6th NOVEMBER
Invicta Dynamos v Romford Junior Raiders (League)
FINAL SCORE – 6-5
DYNAMOS GOALS – Huska (3), Stedman, Davis & Colvin (1)
HEAD COACH ANALYSIS
A little less comfortable than I had hoped after our first period… but a win is a win.
The situation with the ice on Sunday was not an ideal start for both teams but in the first period I thought we adapted well and came out with the right energy and intensity to get the W we have been craving. I think the only thing we could have been guilty of in that first period was maybe not capitalising on the momentum we created through our hard work. Still at 3-0 I was very happy with our start.
When we got the 4th goal at the beginning of the 2nd I think a level of complacency set into our game where we decided that we could run up a score and abort the fundamentals. So when we took some needless penalties, we were punished. They scored 3 Powerplay Goals that cost us dearly and swung the momentum back in their favour. We were the makers of our own bad fortune.
So in the 3rd there was an element of hesitancy and panic in our play which saw them take the lead. Credit to Jason and his team, they battled their way back into the game. Mid way through the 3rd we called a timeout to reset… it was a time to say, do we want to win the game or throw it away. The boys then rallied well in the final minutes forcing errors which led to Huska finding the net on the PK and then Louis rifling one toward the net that Huska tipped to take the win. Great character was shown to get the job done.
I have to congratulate Louis and Stanley double shifting most of the night after we lost Tom Long to illness on the day, Huska for his game winner… and of course to big Ed Stedman for his first Dynamos goal. 👏
As I said, a win is a win… they are not always pretty or comfortable… but we take the 2pts and move on from here.
Thanks again as always for the support on Sunday to get the boys over the line. I can imagine it wasn’t an easy watch (myself included). When you pull together in the final push it really is a huge help. 👍
