The Invicta Dynamos are now able to share the format and fixtures for the upcoming 2022/23 season which will see us compete in the NIHL South Division 1 (Britton) League, NIHL South Division 1 League Cup and the NIHL South 1 Playoffs, culminating in a Playoff Finals Weekend for the final four teams on the weekend of 8/9th April 2023. Our campaign will begin on the weekend of 24/25th September seeing us face off away to the Streatham Redhawks on Sat 24th Sept and welcome the Junior Raiders to our first home game of the season on Sunday 25th September. NIHL SOUTH DIVISION 1
Eight teams make up the NIHL South’s top tier this season following the Bristol Pitbulls step up to the National League. Teams will play each other four times on a two at home and two away basis for a total of 28 league fixtures. The team finishing in first place after 28 games will be crowned NIHL South Division 1 champions 2022/23 and progress to play the NIHL North Division 1 champions in a National Final to be held at Coventry on a date yet to be announced.
NIHL South Division 1 teams are Chelmsford Chieftains, Invicta Dynamos, Junior Raiders, Milton Keynes Thunder, Oxford City Stars, Slough Jets, Solent Devils and Streatham Redhawks.
NIHL SOUTH 1 LEAGUE CUP
Eight teams will compete in the NIHL South 1 League Cup which has been divided into two groups based on final league placings at the end of the 2021/22 season. This format has led to the following cup groupings:
GROUP A: Chelmsford Chieftains, Invicta Dynamos, Oxford City Stars and Streatham Redhawks.
GROUP B: Milton Keynes Thunder, Junior Raiders, Slough Jets and Solent Devils.
Teams in each group will play each other twice on a one at home and one away basis and will be a standalone cup this year. The top two sides in each group will then progress to the two legged semi-finals to be played on a one at home and one away basis over the weekend of 14/15th January 2023:
Semi-final 1: 1st Group A v 2nd Group B
Semi-final 2: 1st Group B v 2nd Group A
The winners of the semi-final will progress to a two legged final played on a one at home and one away basis over the weekend of 11/12th February 2023 with the victors crowned NIHL South Division 1 League Cup Champions.
NIHL SOUTHERN PLAYOFFS
The top eight sides in the NIHL South Division 1 after all league games have been completed will progress to the playoffs. Beginning on the weekend of 1st/2nd April 2023 the eight sides will face off in two legged quarterfinals played on a one at home and one away basis with matchups determined by league position as follows – 1st v 8th, 2nd v 7th, 3rd v 6th, 4th v 5th. The four remaining teams will then progress to a finals weekend to be held over the 8/9th April 2023 at a rink to be determined.
