33_bristol_190222A lone goal from Juraj Huska was not enough to prevent the Invicta Dynamos slumping to an 8-1 away defeat at the hands of the Bristol Pitbulls on Saturday night continuing the side’s run of struggling in the league.

The Mos took 13 players west and were outnumbered by a Bristol team of 20 who were performing in front of a sell out home crowd.

In the opening period the Pitbulls were off the mark quickly – at 06.41 Joseph Llewellyn picked out Joshua Shaw who fired beyond Ben Clements to make it 1-0. That was to be the only goal of the frame though as the Mos kept within touching distance in a spell that saw them outshot 16-6.

In the second period the hosts then pulled away. A slashing minor on Mason Webster allowed them the extra space for Aaron Moody to convert their second of their night at 24.36 – Loris Taylor and Steve Osman claiming the assists. Less than a minute later they had a third – the clock stopped at 25.22 when Mason Lipsey setup Jason Warren to beat Clements for a commanding 3-0 lead. And at 28.41 that edge only increased further – Sam Smith tallying unassisted to leave the Dynamos facing a difficult night with the game less than midway through.

At 29.05 Jason Warren was called for slashing in an incident that then saw a minor altercation and Tom Davis and Tamas Elias penalised for roughing. It was a teaser for some of the frayed tempers that would follow later in the tie. But first, at 33.47, the Pitbulls made it 5-0 – Steve Osman netting against his old team after work from Loris Taylor and Olly Shone. On the buzzer frustrations then boiled over – Mason Webtser and Richie Hargreaves ditching the gloves for a bout that saw both penalised along with Jason Warren who was called for incitement.

In the final frame Bristol continued to pull away to ease to victory. By now Owen Rider had replaced Ben Clements in net but he was powerless to stop Loris Taylor converting unassisted at 41.00 to make it 6-0. That became seven on the powerplay at 41.36 – Juraj Huska sitting for slashing as Mason Lipsey and Joshua Shaw combined before Sam Smith netted his second of the night. The hosts then claimed their last at 52.32 – Steve Osman and Taylor involved in the build-up before Carter-Jaice Lloyd rounded off a comfortable victory for the Pitbulls. All that remained was for the visitors to pinch a late consolation and deny the shutout – at 59.05 Brandon Webster marked his return with an assist and Joe Allen also claimed a point as Juraj Huska tallied.

So it was an emphatic 8-1 loss for the Mos in a disappointing night. Man of the match awards went to Tyler Perre of the hosts and Juraj Huska of the away side.
