Stedman secures another term with the Mos

jakestedman_03072021 year old homegrown forward Jake Stedman has today committed to another season at the Invicta Dynamos after penning a new deal for the upcoming 2020/21 campaign.

Stedman rose through the junior ranks in Gillingham before making his senior debut as a 16 year old for the Invicta Mustangs in the NIHL South Division 2 in 2014/15. In the years that followed the forward then split his time between both the under 18s and Mustangs before his first Dynamos outing occurred in 2017/18.

By 2018/19 Stedman was featuring for the Mos on a full time basis and he appeared in all but three of the teams 46 games – dressing 43 times, scoring three goals and adding four assists for seven points. He returned in 2019/20 and his increasing experience allowed him to have a greater influence on the side – the skater now appearing in 41 games, notching eight goals and claiming 18 assists for a formidable return of 26 points. Still only 21, Stedman now returns for another campaign of senior hockey looking to continue his speedy development in the NIHL South’s top tier.

Speaking on his return to the side Jake Stedman said, “Last season was a tough one for the club given the restructure both on and off the ice but still very enjoyable. We really gelled as a squad and worked hard together. After a long unexpected break I’m now really looking forward to getting going again as soon as we can. I have big aspirations for the side and think we can challenge anyone else in the league on our day. Hopefully 2020/21 will be a big year for the side.”

Player-Coach Anthony Leone welcomed the return of Jake Stedman saying, “When I took over the coaching at the start of last summer I made it clear I wanted to bring through young, local talent and Jake fits that mould perfectly. He is one of our own and has worked his way right through from the juniors to the Dynamos. Last season he made huge strides and put up some decent points and I don’t see any reason why he won’t continue that development in 2020/21. He has growing confidence in his ability at this level, he works well with the other guys and I think he will play an important role for us again when the new season gets underway.”

Jake Stedman will continue to wear the number 17 jersey for the Dynamos in Kent. News of further signings to ice alongside Stedman will follow in the next week.
