Dynamos welcome back Webster

brandonwebster_220520The Invicta Dynamos have added another player to the roster for the upcoming 2020/21 season by securing the return of soon to be 20 year old forward Brandon Webster.

Brandon Webster rose through the ranks in Chelmsford before making his NIHL South Division 1 debut in Gillingham with the Dynamos in 2017/18. Competing in what was Britain’s second tier he featured in 42 games and found the target twice.

In 2018/19 Webster switched to the London Raiders and divided his time between the club’s NIHL South Division 1 and Division 2 sides. He played 13 times in the top tier whilst proving a standout in the next league with 15 goals, 25 assists and so 40 points in 24 outings.

Last term the feisty forward was back in Kent and he dressed for the team 35 times in a season cut short by COVID-19. Webster found the target 10 times, played a role in 12 and so concluded the campaign with 22 points. He also amassed 60 minutes of penalties. Now the skater will be looking to build on a strong season as he commits to another in Gillingham under the leadership of Player-Coach Anthony Leone.

Speaking on his return to the club, Brandon Webster said, “I’m very happy to be back for another season as I really enjoy being a part of the Dynamos setup. The atmosphere on game days and the connection with the fans make this a great place to come and play hockey. For me personally the last campaign got off to a bit of a slow start because of an injury I had before the first game of the season but it picked up for me as we went on. It was a shame that the year was cut short but obviously there was nothing we could do about that. Next season will be tough again but I think we’ll be better prepared for the challenge and pose more of a threat higher up the league.”

Webster’s Player-Coach Anthony Leone said, “I’m glad Brandon has agreed to stay in a Mos jersey. He brings skill, a strong work ethic and an edge to the team. On top of that he’s still only young and improving each year. He scored some important goals for us in 2019/20 and got himself amongst the points. I’ve no doubt he’ll be looking to continue to develop when we get underway in 2020/21. He gives us much needed depth, fights for the win and is popular with the supporters. I look forward to having him in a Mos jersey again when the first puck drops.”

Brandon Webster will continue wear the number 9 jersey for the Invicta Dynamos.
