Brit forward Bailey bolsters Mos squad

ScottBailey_270117Head Coach Kevin Parrish has moved to bolster his squad before the impending signing deadline with the capture of 20 year old forward Scott Bailey who arrives from the EPL’s Manchester Phoenix to ice for the Dynamos from this weekend.

Former Guildford and Slough junior Scott Bailey turned heads in his final year as a youth skater in the UK – the forward making his mark for the Slough Jets for the under 16s, under 18s and in the NIHL South’s second tier all in 2012/13. Bailey finished the season as top scorer for the under 16s with 39 goals and 31 assists in 18 fixtures, he added another 9 strikes and played a role in 3 more in 14 games with the under 18s and he notched a further 4 assists in 3 appearances for the Jets in the NIHL’s second tier.

Aged 16 Scott Bailey then moved across the pond to join the Ontario Hockey Academy where he spent a year playing Midget hockey with 23 points in 44 games before stepping up to Midget AAA with the Maroon Mavericks in 2014/15. Come 2015/16 he made his way to the Carolina Eagles and played across two tiers of the Unites States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) – a junior hockey league – before he made his way back to the UK for the start of the current campaign.

Scott Bailey has dressed 35 times for the Manchester Phoenix in 2016/17 but a turbulent time for the EPL outfit dogged by financial issues has brought the team to the brink of folding and now Gillingham will be the forward’s new home for the remainder of the campaign. The skater’s registration is complete and he is in line to make his debut this weekend as the Dynamos face a double header of road games – against the London Raiders on Saturday and the Oxford City Stars on Sunday.

Speaking on the capture of Scott Bailey Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “We’re suffering with a number of long term injuries and suspensions at the moment so I’m very happy to be able to bring in a player of Scott’s calibre. At 20 he has some excellent experience behind him, he has a good hockey brain and he’ll bring more pace to the team. I know he’s looking forward to the challenge and making his mark in the NIHL South’s top tier and I look forward to having him on the roster for the remainder of the campaign”.

Scott Bailey will wear number 9 for the Invicta Dynamos and bolsters the line-up following the season long injury to Haydn Wootton.
