The Invicta Dynamos are delighted to announce the return of 28 year old forward Steve Osman after the Bristol born skater re-joined the side where he tallied 44 points in 28 outings last term.
Steve Osman originally signed for the Dynamos at the start of 2014/15 and was an instant success at the SilverBlades where he managed 19 goals and 25 assists in his 28 appearances. However it was with a heavy heart that he withdrew from the team at Christmas with travel from his Bristol home proving excessive for both training sessions in the week and games at weekends. As a result he would join the Bristol Pitbulls in the NIHL South’s second tier and his 29 points from just 11 outings were a major factor in helping his new side claim the South West Championship and the post season playoffs. For 2015/16 he then put pen to paper for the Oxford City Stars but, having struggled to adapt to life at Oxpens Road, he requested his release and will now make a highly anticipated return to the Mos for the remainder of the campaign.
On moving back to the Dynamos, Steve Osman said, “Firstly I just want to say thank you to everyone at the Oxford organisation for all they have done. Unfortunately, in the end, I felt it wasn’t quite the right fit for me so I have decided to move on. I called Kev at the Mos this week to see if there was an opportunity to come back to Invicta and I’m very happy to say that we came to an agreement for me to do so. Now I am just really looking forward to getting back on the ice with the Dynamos and will be joining up with the team at training on Thursday. Even more than that I’m looking forward to hearing those loud fans and the special atmosphere inside that rink again on game days!”
Meanwhile Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “I’m delighted Steve is back with the Mos and I know he’ll slot in perfectly with what we’ve built this year. Steve brings everything we’ve perhaps been lacking so far this season – his experience will be invaluable to the younger guys and he has that established quality in front of net that has made him one of the NIHL’s most prominent players. Both he and the club were saddened to part ways last term but we understood his reasons and are just delighted that he has approached us to make a comeback for 2015/16. Steve was very happy here, he’s the consummate professional and you’d be hard pushed to find anyone in the league with anything bad to say about him. I look forward to having him back in the side and I’ve no doubt he will be an important player for us over the remainder of the campaign”.
Steve Osman will once again wear the 83 jersey that he has made his own and should be available for selection immediately with the Mos hosting Cardiff on Saturday before travelling to the home of the Solent Devils on Sunday.
