Invicta Dynamos Head Coach Kevin Parrish has been left searching for another netminder after new signing Mark Hartley recently revealed he was no longer able to commit for the 2010/11 season. Hartley, who was added to the club’s roster back in late June, was set to wear the number 33 shirt at the Silver Blades Ice Rink Gillingham when the new campaign got underway in September but will now no longer join up with the team after the commute to Kent was already proving excessive.

Speaking following the loss of his goalie Head Coach Kevin Parrish revealed he was disappointed to be losing a player of Mark Hartley’s calibre but that he fully accepted the shot stopper’s reasons. Parrish said, “Mark has decided he cannot commit to the club for the new season citing travel reasons and, whilst it’s a shame to lose him, I understand his position. I had a long and thorough discussion with him recently and we both concluded that his journey each week would more than likely have a negative impact on both his game and his personal life”. Parrish then went on to announce his relief at hearing of the issue during preseason before wishing Hartley well for the future when he said, “Whilst the situation may not be ideal I’m very glad to have had this discussion with Mark now as opposed to several months down the line when we’re in the middle of the campaign. Whatever happens with him from here on in he remains an excellent prospect who I duly wish all the best and would still be delighted to see at the club at some point in the future”.

With the early departure of Mark Hartley the Invicta Dynamos’ roster for the upcoming campaign has now dropped to fourteen with further announcements of new additions to be made in the coming weeks. In the meantime Head Coach Kevin Parrish will be hopeful of having a new shot stopper to unveil in the coming month as he races against time to find a netminder partner for the already signed Andrew Dickson.
