Arran Strawson has been a part of the Dynamos since the summer of 2012 when Head Coach Kevin Parrish brought him to Kent from then rivals the Wightlink Raiders. Since that time the blue liner has been on the team roster for six straight seasons and was a part of the sides that lifted the NIHL Southern Cup in 2014/15 and the NIHL Southern Playoff trophy in 2016/17.

In six campaigns with the Dynamos, Arran Strawson has played predominantly as a defenceman and made 291 appearances for the team – only 9 players in the club’s 21 year history have featured more. The Sheffield born skater has notched 49 goals in that time, 169 assists and so 218 points whilst also amassing 477 minutes of penalties. Now the blue liner, who captained the team last term, will be looking to add to those statistics as he continues with the Mos for a seventh consecutive season in 2018/19 between his work and family commitments.

“Arran has been, and still is, a big part of this hockey club since he first joined in 2012. He brings experience to the roster, is established at this level of the game and is an excellent character to have in the changing room. He is very passionate about the Dynamos and has a fantastic relationship with the supporters. On the ice he is a physical defenceman with a good eye for a pass and the ability to put the puck in the net from the blue line”.

“Arran will be joining us on a part time basis this year. Whilst this is obviously not ideal, Arran’s job requires him to work shifts plus he has the birth of his first child to look forward to in the near future. Despite not being available full time, I feel having him present in any capacity is of benefit to the club and therefore I am very pleased to have him featuring for the side whenever possible. I look forward to having him as part of the team and back with the Mos this season”.
