The Invicta Dynamos have added to their roster ahead of the weekend’s season opening games with the Slough Jets and Junior Raiders with the signings of 25 year old forward Joshua Condren and 20 year old blue liner Billy Woods.
Joshua Condren is a former Guildford junior who then went on to represent the Slough Jets and London Raiders before first joining the Dynamos in 2015/16. In his first season in Gillingham he featured in all but one of the team’s 50 games, found the net 12 times and claimed 12 assists for a total of 24 points.
After a successful debut year, Condren stayed for a further two and in 2016/17 he was a part of the side that lifted the NIHL South Division 1 Playoff trophy – playing his part with 4 goals and 11 assists in 40 appearances. In 2017/18 he featured another 29 times – scoring 5 goals before moving to nearby Streatham the following campaign. Now though, after a break from the game, the speedy forward returns to the Dynamos on a trial basis looking to make his mark back in the NIHL.
Condren is a hard working forward with pace and a knack for drawing penalties with his unorthodox style. He will bring tenacity to the line-up and has the ability to score important goals. Condren will wear number 4 during his trial period.
Also lining up for the Mos this weekend is former Invicta junior Billy Woods. The 20 year old defenceman is a product of the youth setup in Gillingham and signs for the senior side full time. Prior to his promotion to the Dynamos Woods has iced for the Invicta Colts under 18s over the last three seasons.
Woods is a promising blue liner making the step up to senior hockey with the Mos. He will wear number 49 for the side in 2021/22.
