The Invicta Dynamos take to the ice for the final time in 2019 on Sunday 22nd December as they host Streatham IHC and it’s set to be a busy night with the return of the Demelza Hospice Teddy Toss, a collection for Medway Sunlight Rotary Club, our usual Medway Foodbank collection and a post-game Christmas raffle.
The Dynamos have previously held a teddy toss in 2013, 2015 and 2018 resulting in supporters of the club donating a total of over 800 soft toys to the nearby Demelza Hospice Care for Children. The toys are then gifted to children in the care of the organisation or sold to generate funds for the charity to continue their great work.
Invicta Dynamos fans are encouraged to once again support the children of Demelza Hospice and the charity itself by throwing their clean and bagged soft toys to the ice at the close of the opening period during Sunday’s home tie with Streatham IHC. These will then be passed on to the organisation in time for Christmas.
In addition to the Teddy Toss, the club will also welcome representatives of Medway Sunlight Rotary Club who will be holding a bucket collection to support their latest cause aimed at making a difference to children with life threatening illnesses. Every year over the last decade the group has organised a four day trip to Euro Disney in Paris for six families each with children in hospices in Kent or southeast London. All donations received this week will go towards their next visit to the French capital in 2020.
As we do at every home game, the club will also be collecting food donations for Medway Foodbank – our chosen charity partner of 2019/20. All items donated will go straight to the organisation’s warehouse to support people and families in crisis immediately after the Christmas period. If you would like to donate, please place your items in the big green collection box at reception.
After Sunday’s home encounter, supporters are then invited to join the team in the bar where the club will hold the annual Christmas raffle. Tickets will be available on entrance into the venue.
So put on your Christmas jumper and join us for our final outing of the decade this Sunday!
