The Invicta Dynamos will be holding a bucket collection to support Ross Bowers at Saturday’s home tie with the Peterborough Phantoms after the Milton Keynes forward suffered a serious eye injury in a game on Sunday that required surgery and has resulted in potential vision loss in one eye.
Thunder skater Ross Bowers iced against the Dynamos in Gillingham on Saturday, scoring twice, but was struck by huge misfortune just 24 hours later in a home tie with the London Raiders. An accidental high stick caught Bowers to the face and has since seen the forward be examined by an eye specialist, undergo surgery and be advised that he may only regain up to 20% vision in that eye.
The injury to Bowers is likely to have immediate impact on his ability to work and support his family and so British hockey has stepped in to support the player in his time of need with clubs, players and supporters all making generous donations. The Dynamos will be joining the cause and invite you to do the same by donating whatever you can during our bucket collection at Saturday’s home tie against the Peterborough Phantoms in Gillingham on 9th March 2019. All money raised will then be passed on to the collection in aid of Ross Bowers.
If you are unable to attend on Saturday but still wish to support Bowers, you can do so by donating via a gofundme page here: https://www.gofundme.com/ross-bowers
All of us at the Invicta Dynamos wish Ross Bowers as speedy and full a recovery as possible.
