Teddy Toss returns for Demelza Hospice

teddytoss_021218The Teddy Toss held in aid of Demelza Hospice Care for Children returns this Sunday 2nd December as the Invicta Dynamos host the London Raiders at Planet Ice, Gillingham.

During the Teddy Toss supporters of both the Invicta Dynamos and London Raiders are invited to donate plush toys to Demelza Hospice Care for Children by throwing them to the ice on the sound of the buzzer at the end of the opening period. Toys will then be gathered and donated to the charity ahead of Christmas Day where they will be gifted as presents for children or sold to support the organisation in providing continuing care for those who need it most.

All soft toys should be clean and bagged before being thrown to the ice.

Sunday will not be the first time the Invicta Dynamos have supported the local hospice and Club Director Jackie Mason is hoping the supporters will once again show the incredible generosity that has seen the side donate bags full of teddies to the charity in the past. Mason said, “There could not be a more worthy cause than Demelza Hospice and our fans have shown amazing support for the teddy toss before with 250 plush toys thrown to the ice in 2013 and over 400 in 2015. We are delighted to be holding the event again and hope as many home and away fans will join in to help make it a brighter Christmas for those who are currently facing the toughest time in addition to backing such a worthwhile charity”.

To take part, simply ensure your plush toy is clean, bag it and then join the frenzy in chucking it to the ice surface when the first period closes at Sunday’s home game with the London Raiders on 2nd December. Doors open at 4.30pm with faceoff at 5.15pm.
